Modified Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Twin Cam by Rick's Motorcycles

The “Final Fat Boy” from Rick’s Motorcycles is a tribute to the last generation of the classic Twin Cam–powered Softail models. The 2017 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy FLSTF marked the end of an era before the Milwaukee-Eight engine replaced the Twin Cam across the Softail lineup.
Rick’s Motorcycles has a long history with the Fat Boy. In fact, the company’s early reputation was built around widening the iconic disc wheels of this legendary cruiser, which has been a staple of the Harley-Davidson lineup since 1990.
For this custom build, the focus was on combining classic Fat Boy styling with premium Rick’s components. The bike features the forged “Steve” design wheels, polished to perfection and matched with custom brake discs and pulleys for a cohesive look. A Rick’s “Fat Ass” swingarm allows for a wider rear tire while keeping the frame, engine, and handling close to stock—offering improved traction without sacrificing ride quality.

Details make the difference on this build. A stretched fuel tank flows seamlessly into a custom seat mounted on Rick’s fiberglass base, while a tight front fender and polished fork tubes add a clean, aggressive appearance. The cockpit features a wide Rick’s handlebar with Classic risers and ergonomic “Good Guys” grips, with discreet Kellermann Atto indicators integrated under the controls.
Performance and sound come from a combination of Rick’s Good Guys air filter and a KessTech exhaust system, tuned on the company’s dyno for optimal power delivery and an unmistakable V-Twin soundtrack.
Despite the name, the “Final Fat Boy” doesn’t mean the end of Rick’s Fat Boy projects. While 2017 marked the last year of the classic Twin Cam Softail, Rick’s quickly developed parts for the new Milwaukee-Eight models - and there are still countless earlier Fat Boys waiting for their turn to receive the famous Rick’s treatment.
